Mahesh Babu May Work With Srikant Addala Again

Superstar Mahesh Babu is likely to team up with director Srikant Addala for an as yet-untitled Telugu film next year. Mahesh and Srikant previously worked together in last year's Telugu blockbuster "Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu". And the duo may collaborate again. "Mahesh really liked Srikant's new story. He even expressed his interest to work with him after he completes all the projects in hand. If all goes well, we can expect this film to go on floors next year," a source close to Srikant told IANS. The actor is currently ready to start working on his next project with director Koratala Siva and later with filmmaker Puri Jagannadh.

Pawan To Direct Gabbar Singh 2?

Telugu superstar Pawan Kalyan, who will soon start shooting for Telugu action film Gabbar Singh 2, is likely to direct the film himself. He has decided to take on the task after his alleged fallout with filmmaker Sampath Nandi. Rachcha director Sampath Nandi has reportedly given up on the much-anticipated film, Gabbar Singh 2. After a slew of delays, the maker wanted to move on with his future projects, due to which the lead actor decided to shoulder the task himself.

For Pawan, the film is one of the most ambitious projects. The actor himself penned the story of the sequel. The film is a sequel to last year's biggest hit Gabbar Singh that was directed by Harish Shankar and produced by Bandla Ganesh. Nandi was to direct Gabbar Singh 2, which is yet to go on the floors. "Sampath Nandi has decided to move on to his next project as he's spent considerable amount of time waiting for this project to roll.

Therefore, Pawan sir isthinking of donning the director's hat on this project," a source said. Pawan's first tryst as director was with Telugu actioner Johnny. The film, which is an extension of Telugu blockbuster Gabbar Singh, was officially launched last year. Pawan will co-produce Gabbar Singh 2 with his close friend Sharath Marar, while Devi Sri Prasad will compose the music. The sequel is likely to go on the floors from November.

Pawan is currently shooting for Telugu comedy Gopala Gopala, a remake of Hindi film OMG: Oh My God! The satirical comedy is expected to be wrapped up soon and it is likely to hit the screens for Sankranti 2015. Though the muhurath was performed last year, the shooting was postponed because they could not lock in the heroine and due to Pawan's political innings.. The rest of the cast of Gabbar Singh 2 will be finalized soon. Recently, reports emerged that Rakul Preet is among the top contenders for the role of the female lead. Speculations are rife in the Telugu film industry that the Power Star might do the Telugu remake of recently-released Tamil film Kaththi.

The journey of "Happy New Year" has continued to be quite happy during its second week too. So far, the entertainer has netted almost Rs.180 crore at the Indian box office. Red Chillies Entertainments Pvt. Ltd.
Monday announced that "Happy New Year" had a strong showing at the domestic box office in its second weekend as it collected Rs.22.23 crore for a total Rs.179.80 crore so far. "The positive trends in collections across India show that the audience have loved 'Happy New Year' and the families have gone to the theatres to get fully entertained," Venky Mysore, CEO, Red Chillies Entertainment, said in a statement. A musical heist drama directed by Farah Khan, "Happy New Year" is a multi-starrer with a cast that includes Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Boman Irani, Sonu Sood, Jackie Shroff and Vivaan Shah. The film became the quickest to make Rs.100 crore, said a statement. Exhibitors are happy thatthe movie has found resonance with audiences of all age groups. "The film, after completing seven-day run, became the most preferred for the families in the second weekend too. The number of Friday was bettered by Saturday, and Sunday was 40 percent better than Saturday - which only goes on to give the indication that families and people who couldn't catch the film in the first week came to the theatres," Anand Vishal, head (Sales and Operations), Fun Cinemas, said in a statement. There were also audience members who came to see the film on repeat value, Vishal said, and added: "We feel that the film will stay in the forefront for the next 10 days or so." Anant Verma of DT Cinemas said: "The film has held well again over the weekend with 60-65 percent occupancy."

Power Star Pawan Kalyan has confirmed that though he watched the blockbuster movie ‘Kaththi’ starring Illayathalapathi Vijay under the direction of A.R.Murugadoss but he is not interested to work in the remake of the film. Earlier the film producers who has purchased the Telugu rights of Kaththi wanted to remake the movie instead of releasing the film in dubbed version and there also screened the movie for Pawan Kalyan but after watching he rejected the proposal now that the producers are planning to release the dubbed version on November 21^st. The movie has already joined Rs.100 crore club. Actress Samantha is playing lead role in the movie.

Shweta Basu wants respect but not Sympathy

Actress Shweta Basu Prasad who caught red-handed in prostitution in a star hotel with a big businessman and who spent two months in rescue home has clarified that she do not want any sympathy for getting roles in the movie she is getting lot of offers from both Bollywood and Tollywood movies but she would sign after selecting the roles. She says she need respect from the people not sympathy because when she was in rescue home her grandfather died but the media has reported false and baseless stories against her which made her hurt and her family and also she could not attend the funeral of her grandfather.
