Oka Laila Kosam Movie Review

Movie Review: Oka Laila Kosam
Starring:  Naga Chaitanya, Pooja Hegde, Ali, and others.
Director: Vijay Kumar Konda
Producer: Nagarjuna
Banner: Annapurna Studios
Music: Anup Rubens
Rating: 2.75/5

The movie Oka Laila Kosam most awaited movie of Naga Chaitanya directed by Vijay Kumar Konda has lot of expectations on the movie and the director has challenged that the movie will over take blockbuster movie Manam so let us see the story of the movie who far it has attracted the audiences.

Story:Karthik (Naga Chaitanya) who belongs to rich family and completes his education in abroad and return backs to India. On one fine day he meets Nandu (Pooja Hegde) and falls in love with her though she ignores him still he followes her and one fine day he proposes for the marriage but Nandu outrightly rejects his marriage proposal however Karthik parents arranges an engagement with Nandu now the twist of the movie is that will Nandu discloses her parents that she dislikes Karthik, will Karthik moulds Nandu to his side and will both get married is the suspense of the movie.

Plus Points:Naga Chaitanya has shown his full acting maturity in the movie, his father and actor Nagarjuna has correctly said that Chaitu has shown his maturity in the movie and he kept his word by showing his skils and romance in the movie. His comedy also fine. Pooja Hegde with her glamor has done justice to the movie. Ali  is a plus point in the movie. The director Vijay Kumar Konda has taken the movie has challenging and done justice to the film by showing romantic scenes between Naga Chaitanya and Pooja Hegde, though the script of the movie is routine but still he was able to manage the film.

Minus Points:The story of the movie is routine, the first half of the movie is slow but in the second half the director tried to movie little faster by twisting the story. He has dragged the movie, borring the audiences. The role of heroin in the movie is not clearly shown by the director. The emotions are not properly directed when the emotions are shown audiences are started laughing at the scenes. The director should have taken some care.

Tehnical Points:Anup Rubens music if good and fantastic and the songs are beautifully tuned and it is a plus point for the movie. Cinematography should have been taken care. Dialogues are good and simple. The director should have taken care of the script of the movie because there is nothing new in the movie the interest which he has taken his earlier movie Gunde Jari Gallatayyinde the same interest he has not taken though he has challenged that the movie is going to over take Manam but now after seeing the movie it is not up to the mark.

Overview:Overall the movie is average however Naga Chaitanya has shown his acting maturity in the movie and in coming movies Naga Chaitanya should show more maturity and also selects scripts which are not routine like Oka Laila Kosam. However the movie is not so good or not soo bad it is average the audiences can have some time pass enjoying the comedy of Ali  because  the actor dominated the movie.

REVIEW

Story:

Gopala Krishna (Ajay) though he gets married to Bhavani (Indraja) still he tries to enjoy teenage girls by flirting with because during his younger days he missed crush on the young girls. He has two children among them one is Madhu (Naga Shourya) who is a engineering student.  Gopala Krishna comes into contact with Samhita (Sana Maqbool) during course of time he falls in love with her and also tries to solve her financial problems also and Madhu also comes into contact with Samhita he too falls in love with her. When Madhu comes to know that his father too is in love with Samhita and also ready to marry her by ignoring his entire family. How Madhu solves the problems of his father, and will he marry Samhita to know you have to watch the movie.

Plus Points:

Ajay as a father done justice to the movie and also flirting with the women is perfect. Naga Shoura performance is ok with his expressions and romantic scenes with Sana Maqbool. Though it is her first movie but shown her performance well. Indraja who returned back to the movies also good in the movie and others like Brahmaji, Ali, and others done justice to the movie with the comedy and performance.

Minus Points:

The story line is weak and the romance between the hero and heroin is limited and not much romantic scenes.  The director has failed to impress the audiences.

Technical:

Keeravani music is only plus point in the movie and his songs and background music has added some life in the film, Amarnath Reddy’s cinematography is ok, editing should have been taken care. The director Trikoti has made different type of movie with different story line but he could not maintain the tempo in the movie, he has taken the movie in a slow pace he should have taken extra care in handing the film script.

Overview:

The movie looks like romantic between hero and heroin but in reality it is an extra marital story of father and son in which father loves his son girl friend which is not accepted by the Telugu audiences however it may liked by youngsters but when the movie is watched with entire family it looks bad for the audiences.

Happy Newyear Movie review

Cast: Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Sonu Sood, Boman Irani, Vivaan Shah

Director: Farah Khan

Language: Hindi

Rating: **1/2

Happy New Year: A all in all SRK flick!
When Shah Rukh Khan and Farah Khan join hands, we know the movie is supposed to be light and humorous and the cast will be seen having a lot of fun. And that they surely do! The musical heist film, which revolves around a Dance Championship, Farah Khan’s Happy New Year is that flick that you’d watch to merely derive fun out of, not expecting too much on the logical front.
Charlie, Mohini, Nandu, Jag, Tammy and Rohan, all non-dancers, except for Mohini, embark upon a journey to loot Charan Grover and seek revenge of the fiasco he put Charlie’s father into. And with that thought, comes the idea of making it to the World Dance Championship, dancing, making heist seem a piece of cake, giving quirkiness a new swing.
For all SRKians, the film is 8 pack wonder, with sleek and uber stylish SRK, impressing all by his style. But the film lacks an authenticity in terms of its plot and storyline. Throughout the film, you should put Logic mode off and just sit through to enjoy the cheeky humor and one-liners. Especially the dialogues where everyone does an SRK be it by repeating or personalizing Shah Rukh’s famous dialogues and not to forget the signature arms’ spread- Shah Rukh style.
Star Performances:
The film is and in and out Shah Rukh Khan flick. He walks, talks, and exudes the Khandom of King Khan. Happy New Year is not a film that is to be treated like the rest of the commercial releases. It is special in terms that it delivers to that section of SRK fans, who can love Shah Rukh in any mode, character and form, and that covers merely being a part of a film, that is low on I.Q but high on C.Q (Coolness Quotient). Shah Rukh has that magnanimous charm and that dimpled flamboyance is full well utilized by Farah Khan.
Abhishek Bachchan has a double role and in shoes of Tapori Nandu Abhi spills on the platter the mawalipan, in a very wacky manner. Deepika Padukone as Mohini is all about hotness and looking good, but she also has sweet nonchalance about her. Mohini, not-talk-the-English will crack you up at some point.
Boman Irani as Tammy is adorable at times, and will not bore you much. Sonu Sood and Vivan Shah also fit into their characters. But you will certainly find some oddness about everyone put together. Maybe that is what Happy New Year sums upto.
Technicalities:
A typical Farah Khan film is all about glamour, extravaganza and commercial cinematic experience. And you will find Happy New Year on those lines too. As a director, Farah has done what she is good at- delivering a commercial masala entertainer. And she has fully put to use the magnanimity of Brand Shah Rukh Khan. And the film is going to be collecting quite some moolahs, no doubt.
The camera work is quite wondrous, especially the Dubai leg, where the gorgeous city is presented in a very splendid manner. The strong point of the film is the film’s music by Vishal Shekhar. Every track has a story to tell and merges well with the situation.
If it is a Farah Khan venture, then the special appearances become the talk of the town too. Be it Sajid Khan, Prabhu Dheva, Anurag Kashyap, Vishal Shekhar, Malaika Arora Khan, Geeta Kapoor, Dino Morea, in the film, all have impressionable appearances. But the most adorable and fantastic one is of Gauri Khan and the baby Khan-AbRam’s. He is a chubby little ball of cuteness and while playing with Papa Khan, he looks eatable. Another Superstar in the making it seems!
Watch or Not:
In Charlie style, if I had to sum this up, then I would say, “Happy New Year Movie ke bare mein main aap do baate jaan le”. Firstly, if you are a Shah Rukh freak then any SRK cine becomes a must-watch saga for you. And secondly, if you remove SRK from the equation and then ask, then you might consider giving it a try. But do keep your brains to rest while watching the film.

Pooja movie review

Directed by : Hari

Produced by : Vishal

Banner :Vishal Film Factory

Music by : Yuvan Shankar Raja

Release Date : 2014-10-22

Tamil hero Vishal who had tasted few good hits in Telugu has been failing to make a mark at Tollywood box office in the recent past. His latest film directed by Hari is dubbed in Telugu as Pooja.

What is it about?
Srinivas (Vishal) locks horns with a criminal called Singannapatrudu (Mukesh Tiwary) as the latter messes with his family. Srinivas beats Singanna in a public place to which the latter seeks revenge on the former. Srinivas needs to safeguard his family from Singanna. How does Srinivas saves his family from Singanna forms rest of the story.

Performances:
Vishal: It is cakewalk for Vishal to play a hot blooded youth. He is very good in action sequences and has impressed in his scenes with Shruti. Vishal did complete justice to his character.

Shruti Haasan:  Shruti Haasan gets a chance to play a notable role amid action drama. She is good as the female lead and definitely one of the major positives of this film.

Others: Satya Raj is fine as the police officer. Mukesh Tiwary is very good in the antagonist role. It is good to see someone different from the usual villains. Radhika did a dignified character. Jayaprakash, Sitara and Kausalya are impressive among the supporting cast. Soori gets on your nerves with loud comedy. Andrea sizzled in an item song.

Technicalities:
Direction: Hari is known for churning out commercial entertainers at will. He plays to the galleries with Pooja by inserting lot of action episodes. He tried his best to make Pooja an engaging watch by using his experience, but sadly the script is too weak. Hari has to blame himself for coming up with a story that doesn't have any substance in it. He showed sparks of brilliance here and there, but on a whole Pooja makes a tedious watch.

Others:  Vishal's production values are good and so is the cinematography. Priyan's work in action scenes is pretty impressive. Editing is not up to the mark. The film drags too much towards the end. Music by Yuvan Shankar Raja is mediocre. Background score is good though.

Karthikeya movie review

Release date : Oct 24, 2014

Director Chandoo Mondeti

Producer : Venkat Srinivas

Music Director : Sekhar Chandra

Starring : Nikhil, Swathi

Nikhil’s Kartikheya has been waiting for a release from quite some time now. Directed by Chandoo Mondeti, this film has finally hit the screens today. Let’s now see how this Nikhil and Swathi starrer is.
Story:-
The story revolves around the famous Subramanyeswara Swamy temple in Subramanyapuram. The temple is shut down for mysterious reasons, and all those who try to find out the story behind this keep getting killed by a deadly snake bite.
On the other hand, Katrhik(Nikhil) is an intelligent medical student who is posted to Subramanyapuram along with his group. Once he lands there, weird things start happening to him and his group. A pretty upset Karthik decides to take things in his hands and solve the mystery himself.
What is the mystery behind the temple ? Why are people dying of snake bites ? Will Karthik be able to solve the mystery ? That forms the rest of the story.
Plus Points:-
Major plus point of the film is the interesting story. Right from the word go, the entire film is quite interesting. Kudos to the director, who has written an engaging story which has enough twists and turns. Karthikeya is a complete directors film which makes you stick to your seats with its racy narration. The suspense factor and mythological touch have been superbly executed.
Coming to Nikhil, he suits the medico role perfectly. It is quite surprising and impressive to see him perform the way he did. Nikhil had a lot of scope to showcase his talent and he delivers it with a lot of ease. Comedy quotient in the film has been maintained quite nicely in the first half with Praveen doing a good job as Nikhil’s friend.
Yet another major plus point of the film is its background score. Shekhar Chandra elevates the film to another level with his tout background score. First half of the film is very engaging, and the way the love story has been weaved into this suspense thriller is quite good.
Minus Points:
Even though the film ends on a superb note, the climax is a bit rushed. May be the audience who are glued to their seats till the end, expect something more from the climax.
Heroine Swathi does not have much to do and looks lost out in the plot. Second half is a bit slow when compared to the first. The film wanders slightly during this part and some unnecessary scenes take center stage.
Technical Aspects:-
Karthikeya is technically a brilliant film. Camerawork is superb as the entire temple and its surrounding set up is designed exceptionally well by the art department. The locations and the lighting used gives a peek into the superb production values of the film. Dialogues written are decent, and suit the mood of the film. Music by Shekhar Chandra is very impressive and goes with the flow of the film. As said earlier, the background score lifts the film completely and all the songs have been shot elegantly.
Tollywood gets yet another talented director in the form of Chandoo Mondeti. This youngster has impressed everyone with his debut film and has a winner on his hands. The way he narrates his story, and adds decent amount of thrill with a nail biting screenplay is quite impressive. Editing is sleek and the decent run time only adds as a plus.
Verdict:-
On the whole, Karthikeya is one of the most refreshing films in the recent past. Novel concept, gripping screenplay, Nikhil’s performance and cleverly designed suspense elements make this film different from others, and ends up as quite an engaging watch this weekend.

Current Theega – Time Pass Entertainer

 Release date : Oct 31, 2014

 Director G. Nageswara Reddy

 Producer : Manchu Vishnu

 Music Director : Achu

Starring : Manoj Manchu, Rakul Preet Singh, Jagapati Babu

Rocking star Manchu Manoj, is back with yet another commercial entertainer in the form of Current Theega. Directed by Nageswara Reddy, this film has Rakul Preet as the female lead. After a round of huge promotions and publicity, this film has hit the screens today. Let’ see how it is

Story:-
Sivarama Raju(Jagapathi Babu) is a highly respected person in his village. One fine day, he beats up Veeraju(Supreet) who speaks ill about his daughter that she will definitely elope with someone when she grows up. An angry Sivaraama Raju challenges Veeraju that if something like that happens he will cut both his ears amidst the entire village.
On the other hand, Raju(Manoj) is a carefree soul in the village who falls in love with Sivarama Raju’s daughter Kavita(Rakul Preet). Rest of the story is as to how Raju goes against Ramaraju’s will and end up marrying Kavita.
Plus Points:-
First half of the film is quite entertaining. It has the perfect blend commercial elements like songs, dances and fights. The story is nicely set up here and flows freely. Current Theega is Manchu Manoj’s show all the way. Right from the word go, it is Manoj and his performance that takes center stage. He gives in a settled performance and does not go overboard unlike his previous films. He is good in comedy and emotional department, and it needless to say about the action sequences which he has choreographed quite well.
Rakul Preet is slowly becoming a glamorus star and also emotes supremely well. She looks gorgeous in Indian attire, and carries off the school girl look quite well. Vennela Kishore, Tagubothu Ramesh bring in few laughs. The climax has been designed decently and the fight which comes in here lifts the film to a positive note. Sunny Leone provides the necessary eye candy and entertains in a song.
Minus Points:-
The second half is a bit dull. Even though the makers tried to invoke decent entertainment, the story just wanders around. Two songs come one after the other, and spoil the flow of the film slightly. Jagapathi Babu’s role lacks the necessary punch. His character is not elevated much and does not provide enough kick to the audience. One could say that he is getting repetitive with his look, and it is high time for him to try something new.
The villain track looks forced and is out of place in the film. Story is quite simple and becomes predictable during the second half with routine elements taking center stage.
Technical Aspects:-
Music of the film is good, and all the songs have been shot quite well. Production values are excellent, and showcase the village nativity well. Dialogues written are entertaining and suit Manoj’s body language well. Editing by Sekhar is quite good in the film. All the montage shots and fights have been edited quite interestingly.
Coming to the director Nageswara Reddy, he builds up the tempo quite nicely till the first half but falters during the second. The villain angle, twists in the tale and other forced comedy at this time becomes routine.
Verdict:-
Overall, Current Theega starts on a promising note with some well designed entertainment during the first half. The tempo dips slightly in the second half but is made up during the climax. Manoj’s electrifying performance, Sunny Leone and Rakul Preet’s glamor and somecomedy elements makes this film a decent time pass entertainer.
